Are there things you try to practice daily to live a more sustainable lifestyle?
I try to do art &/or writing “dailyish.” It nurtures my soul like a walk in Nature.

This morning I got out my compact watercolors & painted the picture. Fun & nurtured my mind, heart, & soul. It’s amazing what happens when my perfectionist is on vacation. 😊❤️

Allowing time to be creative helps me be less cranky. I’m beginning to see how essential my art is to my well-being and happiness. It’s as important as exercise, friends and the laundry.
What do you enjoy doing that nurtures you? Could you try to doing it “Dailyish,” just for a few minutes?
I enjoyed this podcast. It led me to paint my living room this morning (in my journal 😊).

PS – For readers who follow me, you might like to know I haven’t forgotten illustrating my children’s story. I’m hoping these “dailyish” journal sketches will make the “big book project” less overwhelming and more fun. (My perfectionistic Sargeant seems to be on a much needed, hopefully long, vacation. We can only hope.)

I love the idea of “dailyish”. Your phrase, “my perfectionist is on vacation” made me laugh out loud. Takes one to know one! I’ve been thinking a lot about how art might help us during these divisive and depressing times.

Thanks Evelyn! I’m glad it made you laugh. Yes, our creativity is so important, especially now. Art brings me back to the present moment where I get refreshed and where joy often arises when I least expect it.
The historian, Heather Cox Richardson, said a joyful community cannot be controlled. My Black American friends remind me, “They can’t take our joy away from us.”
Look at all they have survived.
I wish you well. It brought me joy to see your kind reply. ❤️
